If you plan to do business
in the UK but do not need to work then you fall within
this category. You may sign contracts and attend meetings,
attend seminars and trade fairs but you cannot be employed.
If you a Lorry driver and working on an international
route then you may fall within this category.
If you are a Visa National

you must obtain entry clearance at your nearest British
High Commission before travelling.
If you are not a Visa
National then you do not normally have to apply for
entry clearance but only to convince the Immigration
Officer that your visit is for business reasons, you
have enough money to support yourself, you intend to
leave the UK when you visa expires and lastly that you
do not intend to take up paid employment. This visa
is only given for 6 months.
You must be willing
to invest in at least £200,000 and create jobs
for at least 2 resident workers. You must be able to
show your involvement in the full time running of your
business or self-employment. Please note that you will
need to gain entry clearance from your country of residence
before hand. This visa is initially given for 1 year
but can be extended for 4 years with the possibility
of obtaining Indefinite Leave to Remain after.
If you propose to employ
two resident workers and own 5% of the shares of the
company being registered in the UK then you may want
to consider this type of visa.
This visa is initially
given for 18 months and may then be extended for a further
4 years with the possibility of obtaining Indefinite
Leave to Remain.
